  • Cracker Barrel Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBRL) today extended condolences to the family of Founders Board member Edgar (Eddie) W. Evins of Wilson County, Tennessee, and expressed thanks for the many years of service that he invested in the company. Mr. Evins, age 77, died yesterday after a brief illness.

Mr. Evins joined the Cracker Barrel Board of Directors in 1970 and over the years had been a member of various committees. He retired from the board in 2002, joining Cracker Barrel's Founders Board at that time. In his retirement, he continued to be a University of Tennessee fan and remained active in community service. Mr. Evins was the brother of Cracker Barrel co-founder and Chairman Emeritus Dan W. Evins.

Cracker Barrel Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer Michael A. Woodhouse expressed his sympathy by saying, 'I first met Eddie when I joined Cracker Barrel in 1995 and always appreciated his dedication to the company and to the people who make Cracker Barrel such a special brand. He served with distinction, and he will be missed.'
